William C. Colegrove Sr., Brock Tool Co. founder
William C. Colegrove Sr., 85, of Marshall, died March 21 at his home after a long illness. He was born Dec. 23, 1922, in Hagerstown, Md., to the late William R. and Madeline B. Colegrove.
Mr. Colegrove was the founder of Brock Tool Co., Inc. During World War II, he served on the USS Makin Island aircraft carrier in the South Pacific.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Nails, sister Mary Capps, and brothers Paul and Robert.
He is survived by his son, William C. Colegrove Jr., and grandsons, Austin and Alex of Marshall, who helped care for him.
He is also survived by his sister, Betty Ellis of Dunkirk, Md.; his second wife, Mary D. of Titusville, Fla.; a granddaughter; and two great grandsons. Also surviving are good friends Frank and Dale Olinger of Marshall, who helped care for him, as well.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Orlean Fire and Rescue.
Funeral services will be private.
