Jackie Hoover Raines Sr.

Jackie Hoover Raines Sr., Bell Atlantic supervisor

Jackie Hoover Raines Sr., 72, of Warrenton, died March 23 at Fauquier Hospital. He was born Jan. 18 at Vicars, W.Va., to the late Earl and Josie Jones Raines.

Mr. Raines retired as a supervisor with Bell Atlantic Telephone Co.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Mary Adele Kee Raines; his children, Jackie Raines Jr. of Warrenton, James Raines of Jeffersonton, Faith Raines of Warrenton, Renea Athelli of Rappahannock County, and Ann Mahle of Chesterfield, Va.; and 10 grandchildren.

Other survivors include two brothers, Bill Raines of Walton, W.Va., and Rex Raines of Nashville, Tenn., and two sisters, Virginia McCowan of Vienna, Va., and Doris Webb of Howard, Ohio.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 27, at the Warrenton Baptist Church, 123 Main St., Warrenton. Interment will be at Bright View Cemetery, Warrenton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Warrenton Baptist Church Building Fund, 123 Main St., Warrenton VA 20186.
