“Women should feel welcome at the golf course because it’s a wonderful place where the outdoors, sport, family and friends all come together. The PGA of America is responding to a growing number of women who want to learn the game of golf. Programs geared toward women are just one of a number of initiatives under The Play Golf America umbrella developed by The PGA of America to
grow the game of golf. The essence of the program is socially enjoyable, time-efficient, and free of the intensity that surrounds everyday life and often distracts us from the activities we enjoy, such as golf.

“Play Golf America” is designed to increase participation among new and occasional golfers and comprises a complete package of growth-of-the-game programs targeting the adult population of various segments including seniors, families, couples, women and business professionals. Led by The PGA of America, this industry initiative is supported by the National Golf Course Owners Associations, PGA Tour, LPGA, USGA and GOLF 20/20.
