Rainbow Center site gets a makeover

SATURDAY, MARCH 13 2010

A small army of volunteers descended on the Rainbow Therapeutic Riding Center site at Silver Lake Park in Haymarket last weekend to clear the land and get it ready for spring. The organization is working to construct a large riding facility at Silver Lake Park.

Members of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club and the Seabees in Woodbridge joined together to help clean up the park site and afterwards, everyone was treated to a potluck lunch. Laurie Olivieri, board member and lead volunteer, won the prize for best dish with her killer lasagna.

The Rainbow Center is a nonprofit that provides equestrian therapy to children with disabilities.
