PW Fair continues

If you haven't been out to the county fair yet, you've still got time. The 61st annual Prince William County Fair runs through Saturday at the fairgrounds in Manassas.

Lacey Reynolds, office manager for the fair, said the recent storms have caused some trouble but the weather and the situation was lightening up by Tuesday.

“Attendance has been down,” she said. “I think the weather has been playing a part.”

Still, she noted , Tuesday was $2 day -- a promotion where wristbands aren't needed at Midway and rides cost $2 each.

“We're staying positive and hoping that we go out with a bang,” she said.

The chances of a pick-up are good since some of the biggest events are yet to come.

The Demolition Derby continues on Thursday night, the championship rodeo is set for Friday and on Saturday, the Motocross Jump-Off will feature flying motorbikes.

General admission to the fair is $8; seniors 60 and over and children 3-6 cost $5. All active duty military personnel will be admitted free with an ID.

Wristband prices vary by day and some of the special shows have an additional cost.

The fairgrounds is located at 10624 Dumfries Road, just south of Manassas. Visit www.pwcfair.com or call 703-368-0173 for details.
