Arrests and incidents reported by police on Oct. 26
Arrests
Felony Eluding 3x, Grand Larceny From Auto 3x, Obstruction of Justice 3x,
occurred on October 23, 2009, around 1:16 a.m. in the area of Jefferson
Davis Highway and River Ridge Boulevard in Woodbridge. The police
responded to investigate a call reporting that there were subjects
attempting to break into vehicles. When the officers arrived they
observed a vehicle and suspect matching the description previously
reported of the suspects. One of the officers attempted to conduct a
traffic stop but the driver fled at a high rate of speed. The driver made
a right turn from River Heritage Blvd on to Jefferson Davis Highway. Due
to the speed, the driver was unable to complete the turn, struck the
median, and began driving northbound in the southbound lanes. During this
time, Martinez exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officer J.B.
Zarkauskas quickly apprehended Martinez. The vehicle stopped, the driver
and the front passenger fled on foot. K-9 Officer J.G. Yost and his
partner Dante arrested Bagett. Blair was also taken into custody by
officer R. Appau. Search incident to arrest, the officers found GPS
units, digital cameras, and jewelry in the vehicle that the accused were
driving. The recovered property was returned to the victims. Blair,
Bagett, and Martinez were held without bond. The court date was not
available. The investigation continues.

Incidents
Grand Larceny from Auto, occurred on October 24, 2009, around 2:08 a.m. in
the 17800 block of Oyster Bay Court in Dumfries. The police responded to
investigate a call involving two suspicious persons. Further
investigation revealed the suspects were looking for vehicles that were
left with the doors unlocked. Five victims had their vehicles rummaged
through and some of the property was stolen. A GPS unit and coins were
stolen.
Grand Larceny from Auto, occurred from October 24, 2009, around 5:00 p.m.
and October 25, 2009, around 7:00 a.m. in the 4800 block of Kempair Drive
in Woodbridge. A masonry say saw was stolen from the victims pick-up
truck. The victim had parked his truck in the driveway of his residence
when it was stolen.
Grand Larceny from Auto, occurred on October 23, 2009, between midnight
and 8:10 a.m. in the 14700 block of Edgewater Drive in Woodbridge. A
drill valued at $200 was stolen from the victim's work van. Entry to the
vehicle was gained by forcing a door open. The victim had parked his van
in front of his residence when the incident occurred.
Grand Larceny, occurred on October 20, 2009, around 11:46 p.m. in the
14300 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge. An aluminum
windshield box and a steel windshield rack were stolen. The stolen items
were left on the side of the building unattended and when the victim
returned they had been stolen. The total amount of the stolen property is
$900.
