High school naming committee seeks members
The Prince William school system is seeking volunteers to serve on a school naming committee in preparation for the naming of the 11th high school. The committee will review citizen suggestions of names for the new school and make a recommendation to the School Board.
Students, teachers, parents and citizen volunteers must live or work within the attendance boundary for the 11th high school, which is located at 10504 Kettle Run Road in Nokesville. The school is scheduled for opening in September 2011.
Those who are interested should submit their name, address, email address and role (student, teacher, parent, etc.) to 11thHS@pwcs.edu. The deadline is Oct. 27.
The committee will meet on Nov. 23 and Dec. 7. The committee is limited to 20 members and the Office of the Associate Superintendent for High Schools will work with the committee.
The committee's recommendations will be submitted to the School Board for information on Jan. 6 and action on Jan. 20.
