Arrests and incidents reported by police on Oct. 19

Fly-Out

On 10-19-09, at approximately 12:45 a.m., the police were called to the 2300 block of West Longview in Woodbridge to Investigate a crash. The driver of a 1995, Saturn, SL2, was traveling northbound on West Longview Drive when he lost control of his vehicle, struck a parked van, then came to rest in the front yard of a house. An unidentified couple assisted the occupants until emergency personnel and police officers arrived. The driver was identified as a 24-year-old man and the front passenger was identified as a 24-year-old woman, they were both flown to an area hospital. Their daughter, a 2-year-old girl was also transported to an area hospital. Their injuries are not considered life threatening. No one else was injured in the crash. The investigation continues.

Arrests

Abuse and Neglect of an Incapacitated Adult, on October 16, 2009, around 5:34 p.m., the police responded to Colby Drive in Woodbridge to investigate the abuse of an elderly woman. The investigation revealed that on 10-15-09, the accused assaulted a family member. The victim was identified as a 77-year-old woman and was treated at a local hospital for facial injuries. The police arrested Michael Francis Yezek, 46. Yezek was charged with abuse and neglect of an incapacitated adult and was held without bond. Yezek is pending a court hearing in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

Rape, Abduction With Intent to Defile, Object Sexual Penetration, occurred on October 17, 2009, around 12:00 p.m. on Warren Drive in Woodbridge. The police responded to investigate a call in reference to an unknown trouble with injuries. The investigation revealed that the victim and her estranged boyfriend are having domestic related problems. The accused entered the victim's bedroom, held her against her will, and raped her. Arrested was Juan R. Velasquez, 23, of Warren Drive on the above named charges. Velasquez was held without bond and is pending a hearing in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
