Arrests and incidents reported by police on Oct. 16
Arrests
Malicious Wounding, occurred on October 13, 2009, around 5:00 a.m. on Old Linton Hall Road in Gainesville. The police responded to investigate a stabbing-in-progress. The investigation revealed that the accused and his live-in girlfriend were involved in an argument. The incident escalated and the accused stabbed the victim in the leg. The victim, a 24-year-old woman was treated at a local hospital. The accused was identified as Robert Darvin Prevost, 23, of Gainesville, and was charged with Malicious Wounding. Prevost was held without bond and is pending a hearing in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
Assault by Mob, Petit Larceny, occurred on October 14, 2009, around 7:30 a.m. in the area of Rixlew Lane and Ashton Avenue in Manassas. A patrol officer responded to investigate a fight between students that attend New Directions School. The incident occurred when the students got off the bus. It was reported to police that three students attacked three other students immediately after they all got off the bus. During the assault one of the victims was relived of his iPod and sunglasses. The victims were not injured during the assault. Petitions for Assault by Mob and Petit Larceny were obtained for two-16-year-old boys and one-17-year-old boy, all from Woodbridge. The accused will have a hearing in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. The victims were identified as two-15-year-old boys and one 17-year-old boy, all from Woodbridge also.
Incidents
Statutory Burglary, occurred between October 12, 2009, around 9:00 a.m. and October 13, 2009, around 7:00 a.m. in the 12000 block of Vint Hill Road in Bristow. Masonry tools, back pack blower, an extension cord, and a battery charger valued at $1,100 were stolen. Entry to the building was gained by removing the AC unit that was mounted on a window then forcing the window open.
Statutory Burglary, occurred between October 9, 2009, around 4:00 p.m. and October 12, 2009, around 7:00 a.m. in the 6800 block of Orrington Lane in Haymarket. A microwave, a dishwasher, and a stove valued at $1,750 were stolen from a house that is under construction. There were no signs of forced entry.
Grand Larceny from Auto, occurred between October 13, 2009, around 3:30 p.m. and October 14, 2009, around 6:00 a.m. in the 2200 block of Gore Drive in Haymarket. The victim reported that her two vehicles were searched through. A GPS unit valued at $600 was stolen from one of the vehicles. Both vehicles were parked in the driveway.
Grand Larceny, occurred between October 12, 2009, around 2:30 p.m. and October 13, 2009, around 9:00 a.m. at a construction site located in the 11700 block of Alexander Hayes Road in Nokesville. Copper wire was removed and stolen from the walls of a house that is under construction. The total amount of the stolen copper is $1,200.
Grand Larceny from Auto, occurred between October 10, 2009, around 9:00 a.m. and October 11, 2009, around 12:21 p.m. in the 7300 block of Sheraton Drive in Manassas. The victim reported that two of their vehicles were broken into. A cell phone, an iPod, and a GPS unit were stolen. The total amount of the stolen property is $300. Both vehicles were parked in front of the residence and were left with the doors unlocked.
