Man charged in KC's murder
On Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 1:30am, officers responded to KC's Restaurant (9550 Center Street, Manassas) for a shooting. When officers arrived, they found 25-year-old Curtiss Kamau Brown of Dumfries, VA in the parking lot suffering from a gun shot wound. The victim was transported to Prince William Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Manassas City Police detectives said they were able to identify the suspect responsible for the October 11th homicide. On Tuesday, October 13, 2009, warrants were obtained for Ricky Lee Allen Kerns, age 21, of Fredericksburg. On October 14, 2009, Kerns was arrested in Stafford, VA by Stafford County Sheriff's Office. He has been charged with murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. He is being held without bond pending a November 17, 2009 court date
