Police nab wanted man

Police have arrested a man wanted for armed robbery and other firearms charges stemming from several incidents over the last two years. Jason Duane Middleton, 28, of Watson Lane in Dale City, was charged with armed robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and brandishing of a firearm.

On 11-13-09, the U.S. Marshalls Fugitive Task Force located Jason D. Middleton in an apartment located in the 3300 unit block of William Johnston Lane in Woodbridge and took him into custody. During the investigation, detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit developed information implicating Middleton to two additional incidents that occurred in 2008.

Middleton was wanted most recently for an armed robbery that occurred on 10-27-09, in the 14500 block of Watson Lane in Dale City.  Middleton is accused of robbing the victim at gunpoint and relieving her of an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim was not injured during the robbery.

In another incident, on 10-02-09, at approximately 2:30 a.m., the police responded to the 4800 block of Pearson Drive in Dale City to investigate a shooting into an occupied dwelling.  The victims reported that they woke up when to the sound of gun shots. One of the rounds struck the window of one of the bedrooms.  No one was injured during the shooting. Middleton has now been charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in connection with that incident.

On 11-05-08, at approximately 7:17 p.m., the police responded to the 12400 unit block of Midsummer Lane in Woodbridge to investigate an armed robbery.  The victim reported that she was walking when she was approached by two unknown men.  One of the suspects pointed a gun at the victim and ordered her to the ground.  the victim was relieved of her purse and a cell phone.  The victim was not injured during the robbery.  For that incident, Middleton was charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and brandishing a firearm.

Middleton was held without bond and has a court date of December 15, 2009.
