Arrests and incidents reported by police on Nov. 10
Arrests
Brandishing a Firearm, occurred on November 8, 2009, around 4:45 p.m. in the 300 block of Poplar Alley in Occoquan. Arrested was Ronald Eugene Simpson, 66, of Poplar Alley on the charge. Simpson is accused of brandishing a shot gun at the victim and threatening her with it. Simpson was released on $1,000 bond and has a court date of December 18, 2009.
Reckless Handling of a Firearm, Eluding the Police, occurred on November 6, 2009, around 9:13 p.m. in the parking lot of a gas station located in the 14100 Minnieville Road in Dale City. The police responded to investigate a call in reference to a man armed with a gun. The man was inside a 2007, Dodge, Charger when a shot was fired. As the officer was arriving to the scene, he observed the Charger driving away. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver sped away. The driver was identified as Derek Anthony White, 24, of Antietam Road in Woodbridge and was later found at his residence. White was charged with the above named offenses. White was released on $3,000 bond and has a court date of November 30, 2009. No one was injured during the incident.
Driving Under the Influence (DUI), Felony Hit and Run, Possession of a Concealed Weapon (brass knuckles), occurred on November 6, 2009, around 11:00 p.m. in the 14700 block of Dillon Avenue in Dale City. The police responded to investigate a crash. A 2004, Mazda, 3 had crashed into the lower level of a house and the driver had fled the scene. The driver was later found walking near the scene of the crash. He was identified as Gavin Aladin Mohamed Yousef, 18, of Fallbrook Drive in Woodbridge. Yousef was arrested and charged with the above named offenses. Bond and court date information were not available. No one was injured during the crash.
Carnal Knowledge, on November 7, 2009, at around 6:20 p.m. the arrested Jairo Alexander Oporto Vasquez and charged him with carnal knowledge. Vasquez is accused of having in appropriate sexual relations with a 14-year-old girl from Manassas. Vasquez was held without bond and will have a hearing in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
Sexual Battery, occurred on November 7, 2008, around 7:10 a.m. in the 14100 block of Fullerton Road in Dale City. Arrested was Eric Bennett, 39, of no fixed address on the charge. Bennett is accused of having inappropriate contact with the victim. The incident occurred while the victim slept. The victim and the suspect are acquaintances. The victim was identified as a 20-year-old woman from Dale City. Bennett was held on $1,000 bond and has a court date of December 8, 2009.
Grand Larceny, occurred on November 7, 2009, around 6:45 p.m. at a department store located in the 2700 block of Potomac Mills Circle in Woodbridge. The police responded to investigate a shoplifting in progress. Arrested was Walter Shane Lundy, 22, of Cedarlake Court in Alexandria on the charge. Lundy is accused of walking out of the store without paying $297 in merchandise. Lundy was released on a $2,000 bond and has a court date of December 28, 2009.
Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, occurred on November 8, 2009, around 12:30 a.m. in the 7500 block of Tendring Trail in Manassas. Arrested was Karen Vanessa Lacayo, 38, of Tendring Trail on the charge. Lacayo is accused of giving alcoholic beverages to a 15-years-old girl from Manassas. Lacayo was released on a $1,500 bond and has a court date of November 23, 2009. The juvenile was returned to her mother.
Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Driving Under the Influence (Felony DUI), occurred on October 8, j2009, around 10:36 p.m. in the area of Ashton Avenue and Balls Ford Road in Manassas. A patrol officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested Robert Nicholas Hudak, 40, of Cobb Road in Manassas on the charges. Search incident to arrest the arresting officer found drugs in the vehicle. In addition $5,540 in cash were seized. Hudak was held on $7,500 bond and has a court date of January 6, 2010.
Grand Larceny 2x, occurred on November 7, 2009, around 2:14 p.m. at a grocery store located in the 8200 block of Stonewall Shops Square in Gainesville. Arrested were John Paul Thompson Jr, 46, and Jacqueline Ochoa Thompson, 44, both of Jaclyn Drive in Warrenton on the charges. Both subjects are accused of walking out of the store without paying $724.87 in groceries. John P. Thompson was held on $3,000 bond and Jacqueline O. Thompson was held on $2,000 bond. The court date was not available.
Possession of Schedule I Substance (crack-cocaine), occurred on November 8, 2009, around 3:51 a.m. in the 7900 block of Crescent Park Drive in Gainesville. A patrol officer observed a suspicious person and stopped to investigate. Arrested was April Michelle Williams, 42, of Academy Hill drive n Warrenton on the charge. Williams was held without bond and has a court date of January 6, 2009.
Possession of Schedule II Substance (cocaine), Intoxicated in Public, occurred on November 7, 2009, around 1:45 a.m. in the area of Prince William Parkway and Nokesville Road in Manassas. A patrol officer stopped to assist a stranded driver. While the officers where assisting the driver, the passenger was arrested for been intoxicated in public. She was identified as Tamara Tymone Bush, 27, of Devonshire Court in Manassas. Search incident to arrest, the officer discovered that Bush was in possession of the drugs. Bond information was not available. Bush has court date of December 18, 2009.
Incidents
Attempted Arm Robbery, occurred on November 8, 2009, around 1:40 a.m., in the 1300 block of Horner Road in Woodbridge. The four victims reported that they were approached by two unknown men who demanded money. One of the suspects was armed with a knife. The victims took off running and the suspects chased them down the street. During the attempted robbery one of the victims was punched in the mouth causing a small laceration on his upper lip. A second victim was punched in the stomach. The first suspect is described as a Hispanic male, between 20-25-years-old, approximately 6'0" tall, thin built, and was wearing a white sweater with a hoodie, blue jeans, and a beanie cap. The second suspect was described as a Hispanic male, between 20-25-years-old, approximately 5'10" tall, thin built, and was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. The suspects left the scene in a green van.
Shooting at an Occupied Vessel, occurred on November 8, 2009, around 11:44 p.m. in the Occoquan Reservoir in Woodbridge. The 60-year-old victim from Woodbridge reported that he was boating in the Occoquan Reservoir when paintballs where shot at him. The paintballs struck the victim's upper body and his boat. The suspect that was observed shooting the paintballs was described as a Black male. The victim was not injured during the incident.
