H1N1 vaccines available at Manassas Mall

Prince William Health District (PWHD) has been notified that to date over 65 health care providers within Prince William County, Manassas City, and Manassas Park have received over 20,000 doses of 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine.

Please inquire with your health care provider regarding the availability of 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine. PWHD expects that all health care providers who have ordered the vaccine will begin receiving shipments within the next couple of weeks.

The Manassas Mall vaccination clinic will be open on Wednesday, November 4, Friday, November 6, and Saturday, November 7. These clinics will only be able to provide the Live Attenuated Intranasal Vaccine (LAIV) also known as FluMist.

In addition, the Wednesday, November 4 clinic will specifically target Prince William County, Manassas City, and Manassas Park students including private school, home school, and day care children. Please be aware that all clinics are dependent on vaccine availability.

LAIV is not appropriate for all individuals. Individuals in the following groups should NOT receive 2009 H1N1 LAIV:

Information regarding when clinics will open or closed and the type of vaccine available will be posted on the PWHD Web site at www.pwcgov.org/h1n1 and on the health department information line, 703.792.6345.

The Prince William Health Department is working closely with community partners to make sure that all individuals in priority populations will have an opportunity to receive the novel H1N1 vaccine.
