Gainesville man charged with child rape
On 09-17-09, the police began investigating the sexual assault of two 17-year-old boys. The boys reported that they were sexually assaulted by a family member. The family member was identified as Richard Dennis Singer. On 10-23-09, detectives from the Crime Against Children Unit arrested Singer on the above named charges. Initially Singer was held without bond however on 10-29-09, he was released on $40,000 bond. The investigation revealed that the abuse of the boys occurred in the county and it started when they were 10 years old. Singer is pending a hearing in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
