Battlefield, Brentsville send seven teams to district tournament finals
Seven varsity sports teams from Battlefield and Brentsville District High Schools have clinched appearances in district tournament final games, all of which are set to be held this Thursday, while one more team can do the same with a win in the semi-finals tonight.
For Brentsville, the softball, baseball, girls soccer and boys soccer teams will all be vying for Northwestern District championships. The baseball and soccer teams will be at home and have No. 1 seeds while the second-seeded softball team heads up to Winchester. All four teams have already clinched berths to regions.
Three Battlefield teams are in so far and one more is on the cusp. The fourth-seeded baseball team upset top-ranked Osbourn Park 3-2 last night in the Cedar Run District semi-finals while the softball team rolled through Osbourn 7-1. The girls soccer team took care of Fauquier 5-0 to advance to the championship. The boys soccer team competes in the district semi-finals tonight at Fauquier High School. A win would then put the third-seeded boys in the district championship.

Boys soccer (district final): Thursday - 7 p.m. @ Home (Nokesville)

Boys soccer (district semi final) - Wednesday - 7:30 p.m. @ Fauquier High School (Warrenton)
Softball (district final) - Thursday - 6 p.m. @ Stonewall Jackson High School (Manassas)
Baseball (district final) - Thursday - 7 p.m. @ Home (Haymarket)
Girls soccer (district final) - Thursday - 7 p.m. @ Osbourn High School (Manassas)
Outdoor track (regional final) - Friday @ UVA Lannigan Field (Charlottesville)
