Arrests and incidents reported by police on May 14
Arrests:
Possession of Marijuana, occurred on May 13, 2009, around 5 p.m. in the 14700 block of Barksdale Street in Dale City. Police responded to the area and will be obtaining petitions for a 12-year-old Dale City boy on the charge. The boy was released to the custody of a parent and will have a hearing in Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
Incidents:
Armed Robbery, occurred on May 13, 2009, around 11:30 p.m. at a gas station in the 2000 block of Old Bridge Road in Woodbridge. The victim, a 34-year-old Lake Ridge man, reported that he was working at the station when three people entered the store with clothing covering their faces. One of the three pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded money. The other two went through the store stealing beer, cigars and cigarettes. They then ran from the store. The victim was not harmed. One of the three is described as a black male between 19 and 22, with a thin build – about 6’2”. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, black gloves, a white mask, and khaki cargo pants at the time of the incident. The second is described as a black male between the ages of 19 and 22, with a medium build. He was wearing a gray T-shirt, blue jeans, and an orange “rag” on his head at the time of the incident. The third was described as a white male between the ages of 19 and 22, with a medium build. He was wearing a black and gray jacket with a gray hood and blue jeans at the time of the incident. The investigation continues.
Armed Robbery, occurred on May 13, 2009, around 8:35 p.m. at a playground on Dorian Drive in Dale City. The victim, an 11-year-old Dale City girl, reported that she was playing with another child at the playground when a male came from a wooded area next to the playground, brandished a knife at the children and demanded money. The children ran from the playground with the male running after them. He abruptly stopped running after the children and ran down a wooded path instead. The victim returned to her home and reported the incident to a parent who notified police. Neither the victim nor the other child, who the victim had just met, was harmed. The suspect is described as a male of unknown ethnic background between the ages of 17 and 18. He had a medium build. There was no further information about him. The investigation continues.
Assault & Battery, occurred on May 13, 2009, around 7:47 p.m. in the 3500 block of Graham Park Road in Triangle. The victims, a 13-year-old Triangle girl and a 23-year-old Triangle man, reported that they were walking down Graham Park Road when they were approached by three people. A verbal disagreement turned into a fight, and the victims were struck. The female victim was not harmed. The male victim refused treatment. One of the suspects is described as a black female between the ages of 20 and 22. She had a heavy build, about 5’5” and weighing approximately 145 pounds. A second suspect is described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 21 and 22. He had a muscular build, about 5’11” and weighing approximately 200 pounds. The third suspect is described as a black male around 15 years old. He had a thin build, about 5’7” and weighing approximately 140 pounds. The investigation continues.
Grand Larceny, occurred between May 4, 2009, around noon and May 12, 2009, around 5 p.m. at a retirement facility in the 12100 block of Clipper Drive in Lake Ridge. The victim reported that a wallet and its contents were stolen from an apartment at the location. The total amount of property stolen is $276.
Grand Larceny from Auto, occurred between May 11, 2009, around 10 p.m. and May 12, 2009, around 10:30 a.m. in the 5500 block of Neddleton Avenue in Dale City. The victim reported that tools, a laptop computer, a GPS unit and a carton of cigarettes were stolen from the vehicle, which was parked on the street in front of the residence. The driver’s side door lock was broken to gain entry. The total amount of property stolen is $3,440.
Statutory Burglary and Grand Larceny, occurred on May 13, 2009, between 7:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. in the 14700 block of Darbydale Avenue in Dale City. The victim reported that a video game system, jewelry and a camcorder were stolen from the residence. A rear sliding door was shattered to gain entry. The total amount of property stolen is $3,005.
