Local organist to give recital

Holy Trinity Catholic Church presents local organist Tim Lewicki in recital on Saturday, June 20th at 7:30 PM. Lewicki is an active member of Holy Trinity Parish in Gainesville, VA. He has served the parish as organist and pianist for the last 4 years and continues to serve the parish as organist on a temporary basis when home from college.  He is a rising junior at Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, NJ, majoring in Sacred Music with a concentration in organ. He studies organ with Alan Morrison, The Haas Charitable Trust Chair in Organ Studies at The Curtis Institute. He has also studied with Milton Rodgers.  While at school in New Jersey, Mr. Lewicki is the Organist and Children's Choir Director at Incarnation-St. James Catholic Church in Ewing, NJ. On campus, he serves as the Music and Liturgy Chair on the Rider University Catholic Campus Ministry board and as such plans liturgies, organizes volunteer music groups, and plays for weekly Masses and services. Previous performances include the Organ Gala and Showcase at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Warrenton, and the Organ Dedication and Recital at Holy Trinity. He is an active member of both the American Guild of Organists, Northern Virginia Chapter and the National Pastoral Musicians, Trenton, NJ Chapter.

Lewicki will present works by J.S. Bach, Nikolaus Bruhns, Jean Langlais, Louis Vierne and Sigfrid Karg-Elert. A free will offering will be collected to benefit Holy Trinity’s Music Ministry. The Music Ministry will host a reception for the artist immediately following the recital in the parish hall.
