Arrests and incidents reported by police on June 30


Arrests


Impersonating a Police Officer, Assault and Battery, occurred on June 28, 2009, around 12:20 in the 1500 block of Cherry Hill Road in Woodbridge. Initially the police responded to investigate a strong-arm robbery call but after the investigation it was revealed that the accused had presented himself as a police officer. When the officers arrived the suspect had left the scene with other people in a vehicle. A look-out was broadcast and the vehicle that the suspects were driving was stopped in the area of River Heritage Road. The three occupants were detained and identified. One of the occupants was identified as the man who presented himself as a police officer. Robert Marion McGuire, 29, of Dale Boulevard in Dale City was arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer and assault and battery. The victim, a man from Gainesville reported that he was attempting to break up a fight between two women when the accused prevented him. Immediately after the accused introduced himself as an "undercover cop" and ordered the victim to place his hand on top of a car. The victim followed the orders and then was searched by an unknown man who relieved him of a small amount of cash. Then the victim was punched on the mouth by the accused. McGuire was later released on $2,000 bond and has a court date of July 28, 2009. The victim suffered minor injuries. The accused is not presently employed as a Law Enforcement Officer with any Law Enforcement Agency.


Grand Larceny, occurred on June 28, 2009, around 12:39 p.m. in the 2700 block of Potomac Mills Circle in Woodbridge. The police responded to investigate a shoplifting-in-progress call. Arrested was Arooj Atif, 32, of Normandy Hill Drive in Alexandria on the charge. Atif is accused of walking out of a department store with a total of $352.51 in merchandise. Atif was released on $3,000 unsecured bond. The court date was not available.


Abduction, Attempt to Poison Food or Drink, Credit Card Theft, occurred on June 27, 2009, around 8:33 a.m. on West Longview Drive in Woodbridge. The police responded to investigate a domestic-in-progress complaint. It was reported to police that Fields was visiting his 20-year-old girlfriend when they were involved in an argument over their five-month-old son. The victim attempted to leave and Fields held her against her will. During the investigation it was discovered that candles, a shampoo bottle, a mouthwash bottle, a milk jug, juice bottles, and a syrup bottle had been contaminated with gasoline. Hanif Alonzo Fields, 31, of 75th Avenue in Landover, Maryland was arrested and charged with abduction, attempt to poison food or drink and credit card theft. Fields was held without bond and will be having a hearing in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.


Incidents


Grand Larceny of Auto, occurred between June 27, 2009, around 10:00 and June 28, 2009, around 6:00 a.m. in the 8100 unit block of Doubletree Court in Manassas. A 2006, Nissan, Pathfinder, 4-door, gray in color, valued at $15,000 was stolen. The victim had parked his vehicle in the apartment building parking lot.
