PW Fair starts Friday
The Prince William County Fair is back, celebrating 60 years of rides, animals, food, music and entertainment.In celebration of the fair's 60th anniversary, all 60-year-olds will be admitted free of charge this year and will also receive free admission to grandstand shows, a free hotdog and drink and a celebratory button to wear.
New acts
This year's fair will also feature new entertainers, including illusionist Josh Knotts and Mark Preston's Comedy Safari Show.
Knotts will perform each weekday at 5:30, 7:30 and 9:15 p.m. And on weekends and Aug. 19 at 4, 5:30, 7:15 and 8:45 p.m.
The safari show begins at 4, 6:45 and 8 p.m. on weekdays and at 1:30, 4:45 and 6:45 p.m. on weekends and Aug. 19.
Back again this year is the Agricadabra Magic Show, which will take place on weekdays at 4:45, 6 and 8:45 p.m. and on weekends and Aug. 19 at 12:30, 2:15., 6 and 8 p.m.
The fair runs from Aug. 14-22 at the Prince William County Fairgrounds, 10624 Dumfries Road in Manassas.
Tickets
Advance tickets, purchased by Aug. 13, are $5 for adults and $4 for children (ages 3-6) and seniors (61 and up).
Tickets at the gate are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and $5 for children. Active duty military personnel and all 60-year-olds will be admitted free.
Season passes, which do not include rides, are also available for $50. Megapasses, which include rides but not grandstand shows, are $99. A family five-pack, which includes rides but not grandstand shows, costs $50.
Grandstand shows
There is an additional $2 charge for the grandstand shows. Each evening features a different granstand show, including a truck and tractor pull, mixed martial arts fighting, rodeo, demolition derby, tractor pull, pro wrestling and MotoCross jump-off.
