Serious crashes reported

On 04-09-09, at approximately 11:15 a.m. the police responded to Bristow Road and Hoe Road  in Nokesville to investigate a single vehicle crash.  The driver of a 2002, Ford, Focus was traveling southbound on Bristow Road.  The driver fell asleep, drove off the road, struck a tree and went into a ditch.  The driver was identified as Tyler J. Robinson, 29, of Gabriel Place in Nokesville.  Robinson was flown to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries to an area hospital.   Robinson was issued two summonses.  One for reckless driving (failure to maintain control of a vehicle) and the second for not wearing his seatbelt.  Robinson has a court date of May 22, 2009.

On 04-09-09, at approximately 11:21 a.m. the police responded to Sudley Road near Poplar Ford Trail in Catharpin to investigate a single vehicle crash.  The driver of a 2008, Honda, Civic was traveling southbound on Sudley Road.  For unknown reasons the driver began to drive erratically losing control of her vehicle. The vehicle struck several trees and finally overturned landing on its roof.  The driver was extricated by Fire and Rescue personnel and was flown to an area hospital.  The driver was identified as a 71-year-old woman from Catharpin. The investigation continues.
