One of the suspects in Saturday's abuduction and fatal car crash has died from his injuries. The second has been charged in the incident.

On September 14, 2008, Prince William County Police Detectives obtained warrants for one of the two suspects involved in the abduction/fatal car crash from Sept. 13. He has been identified as Keith Anthony Baskerville, 19, of Danville Road, Woodbridge, VA. Police believe Baskerville was driving the car at the time of the crash. On Sept. 15, the second suspect, Lutchman Lawrence Chandler, 19, last known address Danville Road, Woodbridge, VA., succumbed to his injuries. Chandler was a passenger in the vehicle and was riding in the back seat with the victim. The investigation is ongoing. More information will be released as it becomes available.

The incident occurred on Sept. 13. Just after 3:00 PM, Prince William County Police received a call from two citizens about a suspicious situation. One witness observed an woman in the PDQ Mart at 15052 Cardinal Drive in Woodbridge, Va. accompanied by two young black males. They appeared to be escorting her around the store. The witness told an acquaintance about the situation and that witness approached the woman and hugged her pretending to know her. He whispered in her ear, and asked her if she needed help. She indicated that she did need help. He called the police with a description of the car and the situation. The witness then attempted to follow the vehicle which accelerated at a high rate of speed eastbound on Cardinal Drive. An officer on Cardinal Drive observed the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed toward Route 1. The officer turned around to follow it and saw the car cross Route 1, never stopping or slowing down for traffic. The driver lost control and crashed into some trees at the intersection of Neabsco Road and Indus Drive. The woman was found in the car deceased. One of the suspects was ejected from the vehicle and the other was found in the car. Both men were airlifted to a local hospital. The woman has been identified as Barbara Jean Bosworth, 61, of White Post Court in Alexandria. The car, a four-door Saturn, belonged to the victim. Detectives believe that the victim had been abducted from Springfield Mall in Springfield, VA earlier that afternoon. Detectives are still piecing the information together at this hour. Preliminary information indicates that the suspects forced the woman to use her use her ATM card in the PDQ Mart and make another purchase for them. She also made a phone call to her husband that indicated something was wrong. Her husband contacted Fairfax County Police and reported that she was missing and the circumstances suspicious. Fairfax County Police are assisting with the investigation. A fake weapon was located at the crash scene.
