Battlefield at 2-0 with shutout win over Gar-Field

If anyone in the Cedar Run District thought Battlefield's championship last season was a fluke, they had better start paying attention this year because the purple and black have demolished their first two Cardinal District opponents by a combined 76-0.

Senior running back Adrian Ingram led the way for the visiting Bobcats Friday night in Woodbridge during their 35-0 win over Gar-Field. He galloping for 200 yards on 23 rushes and scored a second-quarter touchdown to put Battlefield on the board first.

The win comes two weeks after Battlefield crushed defending Group AAA District 5 state runner-up Potomac on the road 41-0. The Bobcats return to Haymarket next Friday to face their final non-district opponent of the regular season in Hylton. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
