Bobcats take control of first place; Tigers ripped at homecoming

Final scores from Friday, Oct. 17, 2008:

Battlefield 17
Osbourn 14 (OT)

Battlefield quarterback Bo Revell ran for a two-point conversation after connecting with wide receiver James Robinson for a 41-yard score on fourth-and 23 with less than 2 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to help launch the match into overtime. Senior kicker Ben Burden then relieved the Bobcats of their biggest scare of the season by nailing a 25-yard field goal to end the night in Manassas. The Bobcats (7-0) now stand alone at the top of the Cedar Run District with a perfect record.

Skyline 26
Brentsville District 7

Even with a packed-house for homecoming in Nokesville, Brentsville District (1-6) was outmatched from the start as Skyline wide receiver Andrew Thorne caught three touchdown passes that totaled 86 yards during the Hawks' 26-7 shellacking of the Tigers.

Stonewall Jackson 17
Fauquier 30

One week after gaining its first victory of the season, Stonewall Jackson (1-6) returned to its all-too-farmiliar ways with yet another loss, this time on the road in Warrenton.
