Battlefield ends regular season undefeated

The Battlefield football team trounced Loudoun Valley 42-0 Friday night, thus becoming the first Battlefield High School varsity sports team to ever go undefeated for an entire regular season.

Running backs Adrian Ingram, Gerald Khosa and Sheldon Tapscott each scored two touchdowns for the Bobcats while the Battlefield defense produced a critical interception late in the fourth quarter at their own 5 yard line to ensure Battlefield (10-0 overall, 7-0 district) kept Cedar Run District rival Loudoun Valley (1-9) from scoring.

The game marked the fifth shutout for Battlefield this season. The Bobcats are now guaranteed homefield advantage throughout the regional tournament, the first game of which they will host next Friday, Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m.

Also in the area, Stonewall Jackson (3-7) closed out its season with a 40-6 home win over Culpeper. Brentsville District (2-8) however lost 42-6 against John Handley in its season finale.
