New exhibit opens at Center for the Arts

A new exhibit runs June 19-July 31 at the Center for the Arts – Caton Merchant Family Gallery. Contemporary Figurative Modernism – Recent Works by Josh Yavelberg features oil paintings of life as Yavelberg’s experiences it; his subjects include carpooling, card playing and bar-sitting.
A reception to meet the artist will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. June 21. The gallery is located at 9419 Battle St. in Old Town. For details, visit www-center-for-the-arts.org.
