Brentsville claims three out of four district tournament titles

Brentsville District High School had a banner day Thursday, winning three Northwestern District tournament championships.
The boys' soccer team, ranked No. 3 in the district, pulled off a big victory out in Winchester, defeating  undefeated John Handley 2-0 on the Judges' home field. The win marked the second away-game upset in the last three days for the boys' team.
In Nokesville, the softball girls routed rival Millbrook 9-0 while on the next field over, the baseball team came back from a two-run deficit in the sixth inning to top James Wood 5-2.
Brentsville's only disappointment of the day came on its own soccer field where No. 2 John Handley stunned the 17-0 Tiger girls' soccer team 3-2. The Judges scored their final go-ahead goal with less than four minutes to go in the game and also managed to hold back several Tiger threats in the wanning moments of the second half.
All four Brentsville teams have qualified for regions, which are scheduled to begin next week.
