Western PW chamber branch opens
Members cheered on June 18 as Steve Nelson of Junction Travel, Inc. and Chair-Elect of the Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce cut the ribbon officially opening the western Prince William branch office, located at 7450 Heritage Village Plaza, suite 202 in Gainesville.
The gala celebration included complimentary hors d'oeuvres provided by A La Carte Catering, American Tap Room, The Daily Grind Coffee House & Cafe, Desiderio Italian-American Grill, Pickle Bob's, and Uno's Chicago Grill. Beverages were provided by PEPSI Cola Bottling Co. of Central Virginia and a special tasting courtesy of The Winery at La Grange.
Staffed by Membership and Events Coordinator Andrea Short, the new branch office will serve the businesses located in the western portion of Prince William County including Bristow, Broad Run, Nokesville, Gainesville and Haymarket. Office hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The phone number of the branch office will remain the same: (703) 368-6600.
The grand opening celebration marked more than a year's effort on the part of the Greater Chamber board of directors and President Debbie Jones. The chamber would like to thank those businesses who contributed to that effort, including ActionCoach Business Coaching; Buchanan Partners; Hampton Inn - Gainesville; Lensis Builders Inc.; Save-A-File Systems; The Marque At Heritage Hunt; Uno's Chicago Grill; and Vintage Moving and Storage Systems Inc.
The branch office was deemed essential by the board of directors of the Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce due to the growth in the area in recent years. The county estimates that the population of the region has risen at a rate of at least 133 percent in the years since the 2000 census. Six new public schools have been opened there and more than one-quarter of member businesses in the Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce are located in that area.
"The Gainesville/Haymarket area has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years as many innovative new corporations have moved here recently. We are thrilled to have our chamber location right in the heart of this new business corridor so that we can better serve their needs," commented Chair-elect Steve Nelson of Junction Travel Inc.
The branch office will provide a place for member businesses in the area to connect. The Greater Chamber plans to hold some events at the western Prince William branch office including periodic Chamber Membership 101 Mentoring sessions for new members and lunchtime brown bag seminars. The conference room in the satellite office will also be available for use by members during business hours.
A number of branch office sponsorships are available for members. With more than 1,100 members, the Greater Chamber was listed as the fourth largest in the Washington area by the Washington Business Journal's "Book of Lists 2007."
