Arrests and incidents reported by police on July 14
Arrests
Malicious Wounding, occurred on July 11, 2008, around 2:45 a.m. in the 14000 block of Foulger Square in Woodbridge. Arrested was Jason Brant Budimlya, 26, of no fixed address. The police responded to investigate an assault-in-progress call. Budimlya is accused of stabbing a 22-year-old man from Woodbridge. The victim was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries but he is now on stable condition. The motive for the stabbing is under investigation. Budimlya was held without bond and has a court date of August 26, 2008.
Robbery, occurred on July 11, 2008, around 4:05 p.m. in the 14300 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge. Arrested was Joel Espino, 19, of Purcell Road, Manassas, on the charge. Espino is accused of robbing a grocery store at gun point. Espino is accused of approaching the cashier, threatening the cashier with a gun, and demanding money. Espino was observed by Officer C.J. LeClair walking near the scene a short time later. He was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. Espino was held without bond and his court date was not available.
Possession of a Concealed Weapon (knife), Disorderly Conduct, occurred on July 11, 2008, around 12:38 p.m. in the area of Walnut Street and Balsam Street in Woodbridge. A 17-year-old male from Alexandria was arrested for possessing a concealed knife. The juvenile became uncooperative during the investigation. He was released to a guardian and he will be having a hearing in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
Malicious Wounding, occurred on July 12, 2008, around 1:25 a.m. in the 13200 block of Worth Avenue in Dale City. The police responded to investigate a fight-in-progress and arrested Pablo Jose Brugueras Jr., 31, of Darlington Loop, Woodbridge, on the charge. Brugueras is accused and the victim, a 21-year-old man, from Dale City, were involved in an argument. The incident escalated and Brugueras struck the victim on the forehead with glass bottle. The victim as transported to a local hospital and was treated for his injuries. Brugueras was held on $10,000 bond. His court date was not available.
Incidents
Malicious Wounding, occurred on July 11, 2008, around 8:41 p.m. in the 8200 block of Old Centreville Road in Manassas. A 15-year-old male from Manassas was stabbed on the chest while he was walking to a convenience store. The victim was flown to an area hospital. The motive of the stabbing is under investigation. There are no descriptions of the attacker.
Malicious Wounding, occurred on July 11, 2008, around 5:09 p.m. in the 14600 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. The victim, a 37-year-old man from Triangle reported that he had been stabbed during a fight. The victim was treated at a local hospital for a laceration on his shoulder. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 42-years-old, approximately 5'7" tall and heavy built. The investigation continues.
Armed Robbery, occurred on July 12, 2008, around 10:30 p.m. in the area of Purdue Court and Coverstone Drive in Manassas. The victim, a 50-year-old man from Woodbridge, reported that he had been robbed at gun point. The victim was approached from behind, the suspect ordered him to the ground, and demanded him to give up his wallet. The suspect left the scene after relieving the victim of his property. The victim was not injured during the robbery. The suspects were described as two Black males, between 25-35-years-old, 5'6" tall. The first suspect had his face covered with a red bandana and was wearing a long white t-shirt and blue jeans. The second suspect was wearing an orange shirt, blue jeans, and flip flops.
Attempted Armed Robbery, occurred on July 13, 2008, around 12:16 a.m. in the 14500 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge. The victim, a 34-year-old woman, from Woodbridge, reported that she was approached from behind by an unknown suspect. The victim was closing her place of employment when the incident occurred. The suspect left the scene when the business's alarm was set off. The suspect was described as a Black male, approximately 6'0" tall, and thinly built. The victim was not injured during the robbery.
Throwing Missiles at an Occupied Dwelling, occurred on July 14, 2008, around 3:30 a.m. in the 13900 block of Lynchurst Drive in Woodbridge. The victim reported that he had been awaken by a loud noise and went to investigate. The victim found a front window of his residence broken and brick in his living room. No injuries were reported.
Statutory Burglary, occurred on July 12, 2008, around 11:21 p.m. in the 19100 block of Wayne Drive in Triangle. The victim reported that her dogs were barking and she went to investigate. The victim found two unknown suspects in her living room. The suspects ran from the scene prior to the arrival of the police. The first suspect is described as a White male, between 18-25-years-old, approximately 5'5" tall, medium built, and was wearing a red t-shirt and a black hat. The second suspect was a Black male, between 18-25-years-old, approximately 6'0" tall, thinly built, and was wearing black clothes. The victim's bathroom was ransacked but nothing was stolen. Entry was gained by forcing a door open. The victim was not injured during the burglary.
Statutory Burglary, occurred between July 10, 2008, around 3:00 p.m. and July 11, 2008, around 5:00 p.m. in the 15400 block of Wicker Court in Woodbridge. Two lap top computers, an MP3 player valued at $2,800 were stolen. There were no signs of forced entry.
Statutory Burglary, occurred on July 11, 2008, around 9:00 a.m. in the 1400 unit block of Bayside Avenue in Woodbridge. A computer printer valued at $250 was stolen from a business. There were no signs of forced entry.
