Bristow man killed in crash

On July 13, at approximately 1:15 p.m. the police responded to investigate a crash in the area of Nokesville Road and Chapel Spring Road in Manassas. A 2007 Toyota Camry, was traveling southbound on Nokesville Road when it crossed the double yellow lines and entered the northbound lane, colliding headon with a 2005 Acura MDX. The driver of the Toyota Camry was flown to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Acura MDX, was identified as a 68-year-old woman from Manassas. She was transported to a local hospital. Her injuries are not life-threatening.
Shortly after 7 p.m., the driver of the Camry succumbed to his injuries and died. He was identified as a Richard Gregory Pons, 70, of Raith Court in Bristow. Pons was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. The investigation continues but no charges have been filed.
