Police nab burglary suspects

Residential Burglaries Arrests

In June, the police began the investigation of two residential burglaries located in the 1800 block of Halifax Road in Woodbridge and the 15700 block of London Place in Dumfries. The house located on Halifax Road was burglarized on 06-06-08. The house on London Place was burglarized on 06-25-08.  Video game systems, video games, video game accessories, jewelry, cameras, an iPod charger, a TV, sunglasses, and cash are some of the items that were stolen.  Over $5,000 in property was stolen from both residence.  Forced entry was used to gain entry into the houses.  During the investigation, the police developed suspect information and four arrests were made.

 

On 07-03-08, Wilmer Humberto Ortez, 18, of Enterprise Lane, Woodbridge, was arrested and charged with two counts of Statutory Burglary, and two counts of Grand Larceny. Ortez is accused of breaking into the above mentioned residences and stealing approximately $5,205 in property. Ortez is being held without bond and has a court date of August 5, 2008.

 

On 07-03-08, Edward Steven Dell'Acqua, 20, of Illinois Court, Woodbridge, was also arrested and charged with Possession of Stolen Property. Dell'Acqua is accused of being in possession of some of the property that had been stolen in mentioned residential burglaries.

 

On 07-05-08, Matthew Juan Gonzales, 18, of Tamarack Place, Woodbridge, was arrested and charged with Statutory Burglary and Grand Larceny. Gonzales is accused of breaking into a residence located in the 15700 block of London Place. Gonzalez has been released on $2,000 bond and has a court date of August 5, 2008.

 

On 07-10-08, at approximately 4:30 p.m. James Anthony Cox, 18, of Melbourne Avenue, Woodbridge, was arrested and charged with Statutory Burglary and Grand Larceny. Cox is accused of burglarizing the residence located on Halifax Road. Bond and court date information were not available.

 

All the arrested subjects have a scheduled court date of August 5, 2008.  The investigation continues.
