Painting, photography classes offered at NOVA

Painters and photographers can enroll in two upcoming noncredit classes at the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College.

Aspiring Painters Workshop will teach beginners how to draw and paint using oil pastels, watercolors and other media. The class fee is $144 and a supply list will be discussed at the first session. The class will meet on Saturday mornings starting July 12 and ending Aug. 16.

Adobe Photoshop for Photographers will cover the features most needed by intermediate to advanced photographers who use Photoshop CS3 and CS2. Students will learn to process raw images, make adjustments using layers, retouch, sharpen and prepare photos for printing. The class will meet for five sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning July 15. The class fee is $179, which includes detailed handouts.
