Battlefield grad to continue basketball career in college

Former Battlefield point guard Tyler Bent has announced his intention to play as a freshman for the Roanoke College basketball team this winter.
Bent, a 2008 graduate of Battlefield High School, is set to play under coach Page Moir at the Division III team in Salem, Va.
As a senior during the 2007-08 season, he helped guide Battlefield to a second-place finish in the Cedar Run District tournament and its first-ever appearance in the Northwestern Regional tournament.
During his junior year, Bent earned the "Battling Bobcat" award, an honor bestowed from the Battlefield coaching staff to the player on the team that shows the most grit on the court.
