Arrests and incidents reported by police on Dec. 17


Serious Crash


Om 12-16-08, at approximately 10:53 p.m., the police responded to the 15200 block of Fleetwood drive in Nokesville. A 1995, Acura, Integra was traveling southbound on Fleetwood Drive and a 2002, Chevrolet, Silverado was traveling northbound. The Integra drifted into the oncoming lane and collided with the Silverado head on. The driver of the Silverado was identified as a 22-year-old man from Stafford. The driver of the Integra was identified as a 37-year-old woman from Nokesville. Both drivers were transported to a local hospital. No one has been charged and the investigation continues.


Arrest

On December 16, 2008, at approximately 3:45 p.m., the police responded to the intersection of Sedgwick Place and Old Triangle Road in Dumfries to investigate a shooting-in-progress call. When the officers arrived, they found an adult male wounded from gun shots. The victim was later identified as a 31 year old man from the Woodbridge area. The investigation revealed that the shooting resulted from a domestic related incident between two brothers. The accused shot at his 31-year-old brother, wounding him. The accused drove away from the scene prior to the arrival of the police. A description of the vehicle that the accused was driving was given. Officer S.R. Wheeler observed the vehicle traveling northbound on Jefferson Davis Highway and Occoquan Road and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was detained and identified as Marcus Lamont Howard, 23, of Providence Street in Stafford.

He was charged with Malicious Wounding, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony and Shooting From a Vehicle. The victim was flown to an area hospital and he is expected to recover. The accused was held without bond and he will be having a hearing in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.


Incidents


Malicious Wounding, occurred on December 15, 2008, around 1:00 a.m. at a restaurant located in the 7900 block of Centreville Road in Manassas. The victim, a 37-year-old man, reported that he had been attacked by an unknown man. It was reported to police that the suspect came out from between parked vehicles, approached the victim, and struck him on the head with a baseball bat. The victim suffered severe head injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The suspect was described as a Hispanic adult male, approximately 5'8" tall, 180 pounds, and was wearing a blue jacket and blue jeans. The suspect was observed walking away from the scene.


Strong-Arm Robbery, occurred on December 16, 2008, around 6:54 p.m. in the 14700 block of Barksdale Street in Dale City. The victim reported that he had been robbed by group of unknown males. The reported that he was exiting his vehicle to deliver pizzas when the suspects approached him, attacked him, and took his pizzas and his vehicle. The vehicle stolen was a 1993, Nissan, Sentra, 4-door, maroon in color, valued at $2,500. The victim suffered minor injuries. The suspects are described as adult Black males, between 18-25-years-old and were wearing black clothes.


Attempted Malicious Wounding, occurred on December 13, 2008, around 1:20 a.m. at a restaurant located in the 8500 block of Rixlew Lane in Manassas. The police responded to investigate a fight with weapons call. The investigation revealed that two men, a 34-year-old and a 23-year-old, each armed with knives were involved in a fight. No one was injured during the fight. The investigation continues.


Assault and Battery, occurred on December 12, 2008, around 12:42 p.m. at a grocery store located in the 14055 block of Noblewood Plaza in Woodbridge. The victim, a 27-year-old woman from Woodbridge reported that she was assaulted by the suspect when she attempted to stop him from stealing beer. The victim suffered minor injures. The suspect is described as White male. The suspect left the scene prior to the arrival of the police.


Statutory Burglary, occurred between December 11, 2008, around 3:00 p.m. and December 15, 2008, around 4:00 p.m. in the 13300 block of Keystone Drive in Dale City. The victim reported that sodas had been stolen from the house. Entry was gained through an unlocked window.


Statutory Burglary, occurred on December 12, 2008, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in the 7400 block of Goshen Court in Manassas. A video game system, a woman's purse, and jewelry were stolen from the victim's residence. The total amount of the stolen property is $3,308. Entry was gained by forcing a door open.


Statutory Burglary, occurred on December 14, 2008, around 8:40 a.m. in the 7200 block of Old Carolina Road in Gainesville. Police officers responded to investigate a burglary in progress call. When the officers arrived, they a basement window broke and a sliding glass door smashed. Some items in the house had been moved out of place but nothing was stolen.


Statutory Burglary, occurred between December 13, 2008, around 8:00 p.m. and December 14, 2008, around 3;00 a.m. in the 10700 block of Schaeffer Lane in Nokesville. The victim reported that when he returned to his residence some things had been moved out of place. Jewelry and cash were stolen from the victim's residence. The total amount of the stolen property is $50,000. Entry was gained through an unlocked door.
