Final Wave of Smooth Operator to Begin Aug. 31

The fourth and final wave of the Smooth Operator campaign will begin on Sunday, Aug. 31, and run through Saturday, Sept. 6.Smooth Operator is a regional anti-aggressive driving campaign that involves nearly 30 law enforcement agencies throughout the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area. During the third wave of the Smooth Operator campaign, Aug. 3-9, Prince William County police officers issued 1,658 traffic citations for aggressive driving violations. Prince William County Police will target those offenses most closely associated with aggressive driving. Speeding, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to wear a seatbelt and child safety seat violations are just a few of the categories that are targeted during the Smooth Operator campaign.
