Arrests and incidents reported by police on Aug. 19

Fly-out

On 08-19-09, at approximately 5:30 a.m. the police responded to investigate a pedestrian crash that occurred on Dumfries Road and Water Springs Drive in Manassas. The victim, a 56-year-old male, from Manassas was crossing Dumfries Road in the pedestrian crosswalk at Warm Springs when a commercial vehicle disregarded the red traffic signal and struck him. The victim was flown to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The commercial vehicle fled the scene prior to the arrival of the police. A look out was broadcasted and Officer M. West located the vehicle at the intersection of Prince William Parkway and Sudley Manor.

The driver of the commercial vehicle was identified as Emir Salihovic, 23, of Broadway Avenue in Richmond. Salihovic was operating a 1999 International tractor. Salihovic was charged with Felony Hit and Run and Disregarding a Red Signal. He was held on $5,000 bond and has a court date of September 19, 2008.

Arrests

Grand Larceny 2x, Conspiracy To Commit Grand Larceny 2x, occurred on August 15, 2008, around 3:40 p.m. at a department store located in the 11100 block of Bulloch Drive in Manassas. Arrested were Amanda Lynn Cook, 21, of Garrison Road, Manassas, and Heather Latricia Drone, 24, of Scott Circle, Bealeton. Cook and Drone were each charged with grand larceny and conspiracy to commit grand larceny. Cook and Drone are accused of walking out of a department store with a total of $879.56 of unpaid merchandise. Cook and Drone were each held on $5,000 bond and have a court date of September 29, 2008.

Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Concealed Weapon (firearm) 2x, occurred on August 17, 2008, around 4:46 p.m. in the 7800 unit block of Keara Court in Manassas. The police responded to investigate the brandishing of a weapon call. Arrested was Tyrone Brian Thompson, 28, of Hovingham Court, Centreville. Thompson was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a concealed weapon. Thompson was held on $1,000 bond. The second person arrested was Frank James Lashley Williams, 32, of Willoughby Lane, Manassas. Williams was held on $2,000 bond. Thompson and Williams have a scheduled court date of September 26, 2008.

Assault by Mob, occurred on August 12, 2008, around 5:25 p.m. in the 12800 block of Valleywood Drive in Woodbridge. The victim, a 17-year-old male from Woodbridge reported that he was assaulted by three unknown suspects. The victim reported that he was arguing with an acquaintance when the three men knocked him to the ground and began to punch and kick him. The victim was able to get away and call the police. Arrested were;

* Jordan Zachery Horvath 18, of Caledonia Circle, charged with Assault by Mob.

*Joshua Rafael Garcia, 18, of Caledonia Circle, charged with Assault by Mob.

*A 17-year-old male from Woodbridge. Charged with Assault by Mob.

Horvath and Garcia were each held on $1,000 bond. The accused will be having a hearing in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

 

Incidents

Armed Robbery, occurred on August 19, 2008, around 12:43 a.m. at a gas station located in the 13300 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge. The store clerk reported that the suspect approached him, threatened him with an unknown object, and demanded money. The victim opened the register and the suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect left the scene in a new pick up truck. The suspect is described as a black male, between 35-40-years-old, and was wearing a green shirt with white stripes, blue jeans. The victim, a 35-year-old man from Woodbridge was not injured during the robbery.

Throwing Missiles Into an Occupied Dwelling, occurred on August 18, 2008, around 6:20 a.m. in the 14900 block of Alaska Road in Woodbridge. The victim reported that he heard noise and went to investigate. The victim discovered that a kitchen window was broken with a blunt object. No one was injured during the incident.

Brandishing a Firearm, occurred on August 15, 2008, around 4:30 p.m. in the 5800 block of Rhode Island Drive in Dale City. The victim, a 12-year-old boy from Dale City was walking home when he was approached by five unknown male juveniles. The suspects followed the victim for a distance and verbally harassed him. During the incident one of the suspects showed the victim a hand gun. The victim was not threatened with the hand gun and he was not injured during the incident. The suspects are described as five males between 14-16 years-old. One of the suspects was wearing a red hat, red shorts, red socks, and red and white sneakers.

Destruction of Property, occurred between August 15, 2008, around 9:00 p.m. and August 16, 2008, around 9:00 a.m. at an auto dealership located in the 15600 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge. It was reported that 15 new vehicles were scratched overnight. The damages caused to the vehicles were estimated at approximately $3,000.

Grand Larceny From Auto, occurred between August 16, 2008, around 6:30 p.m. and August 17, 2008, around 3:30 p.m. in the 14200 block of Lindendale Road in Woodbridge. A concrete saw, a paint sprayer, nail framing guns, a generator, a drill, and a CD player valued at $7,976.98 were stolen from the victim's work truck. The victim had parked his truck in his driveway.

Grand Larceny From Auto, occurred between August 15, 2008, around 5;00 p.m. and August 18, 2008, around 6;30 a.m. in the 800 block of Highams Court in Woodbridge. The victim reported that two of his work vans were broken into and his construction equipment stolen. Two nail guns, a paint sprayer, three saw, a chipping hammer, four electrical cords, and a belt sander valued at $3,030 were stolen. Entry to the vehicles was gained by breaking the locked doors.

Grand Larceny From Auto, occurred between August 6, 2008, around 12:00 p.m. and August 17, 2008, around 1:30 p.m. in the 12700 block of Clipper Road in Woodbridge. A stereo system valued at $800 was stolen from a 2003, Ford, Expedition. There incident occurred while the victim was away on vacation and had parked his vehicle at a friend's house. There were no signs of forced entry.

Grand Larceny of Motorcycles, occurred between August 15, 2008, around 11:00 p.m. and August 16, 2008, around 7:30 a.m. in the 11200 unit block of Lady Jane Loop in Manassas. A 2007, Suzuki, GSXR, blue, white, and red in color. And a 2007, Honda, CBR1000RR, black and gray in color were stolen. The two motorcycles were stolen from the parking lot of apartment building where the victim lives. The total amount of the stolen property is $23, 900.

Grand Larceny of Auto, occurred on August 16, 2008, occurred between midnight and 8:30 a.m. in the 7900 block of Blue Gray Circle in Manassas. A 2003, Dodge, Caravan, van, silver in color, valued at $7,000 was stolen. The victim had parked his van near his residence.

Statutory Burglary, occurred on August 14, 2008, between 9:00 a.m. and 1:40 p.m. in the 6500 block of Davis Ford Road in Manassas. A video game system, video game, jewelry, and silver coins were stolen from the victim's house. Entry was gained by breaking a basement glass window. The estimated amount of the stolen property is $23,470.

Statutory Burglary, occurred between August 15, 2008, around 5:30 a.m. and August 16, 2008, around 6:30 a.m. in the 14200 block of Wythridge Way in Haymarket. The victim reported his gulf gear and equipment valued at $1,450 had been stolen from his garage. There were no signs of forced entry.

Statutory Burglary, occurred on August 18, 2008, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. in the 13000 block of Kingswell Drive in Woodbridge. The victim reported that her house had been ransacked and a video game system, money, and jewelry were stolen. The total amount of the stolen property is $475. Entry was gained by forcing a x_window.opened.

Statutory Burglary, occurred between August 15, 2008, around 6:00 p.m. and August 18, 2008, around 5:30 a.m. in the 13000 block of Worth Avenue in Woodbridge. A flat screen television valued at $1,200 was stolen from a building under construction. The building was left unsecured and the property unattended.
