Police reports: 04-14

Arrests and incidents reported by police on April 14.

Arson, occurred on 04-13-08, at approximately 5:00 a.m. at the Marumsco
Mobile Home Park, Lot #59, located at 13950 Jefferson Davis Highway in
Woodbridge. The Prince William County Police Department and the Prince
William Fire Marshals Office are jointly investigating the fire in which
a 35-year-old man was severely burned.  The victim was flown to the
regional burn center.

The suspect was identified as Atilano Santos Sampayo, 36-years-old,
residing at the park.  Prince William County Police arrested Sampayo and
charged him with Aggravated Malicious Wounding, Burglary With Intent to
Commit Arson, and five counts of Attempted Malicious Wounding.  The
Fire Marshals Office charged Sampayo with Arson of an Occupied Dwelling.
Sampayo is being held without bond.  His court date has been scheduled
for May 21, 2008.

It was reported to police that Sampayo and another man were involved in
a fight while they attended a party.  Sampayo was ordered to leave.
Hours later, Sampayo returned and forced his way into the trailer home
and ignited it.  There were a total of seven men in the mobile home at
the time of the fire.  Five of them reside at the mobile home.  The
other two reside in other lots.  As the victims were attempting to exit
the burning  trailer, they tripped over the burning victim and dragged
him out to safety.  There were no other injuries reported.

Arrests

Possession of Schedule I Substance (Psylocibin mushrooms), Possession of
Marijuana, Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana 2x, occurred
on March 10 , 2008, around 3:29 a.m. in the 7400 unit block of
Willoughby Lane in Manassas.  Arrested was Shawn Thomas Cavender, 31, of
Willoughby Lane on the charges.  Cavender was held on
$$3,000 bond and has a court date of June 2, 2008.  Officer R.M. Harris
conducted a search warrant at the named address after receiving
information that there were drugs in the accused's apartment.  During
the search warrant, approximately $16,000 were seized.  In addition,
Travis Leshun Jones, 24, also residing at Willoughby Lane was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
Canvender was held on $3,000 bond and Jones was held on $2,000 bond.
Cavender and Jones have a court date of June 2, 2008.

Brandishing of a Firearm, Disorderly Conduct, Reckless Driving, occurred
on April 12, 2008, around 4:50 p.m. in the area of Lake Terrapin Drive
and copper Turtle Place in Montclair.  Patrol officers responded to
investigate a reckless driver call.  Arrested were Andrew John
Breidenbach, 29, of Lake Terrapin Drive, and Yonatan Bisrat,
27-years-old, of Chula Place, Woodbridge.  Breidenbach was charged
with brandishing of firearm.  Bisrat was charged with disorderly conduct
and reckless driving.  The investigation revealed that Bisrat was
observed driving at a high rate of speed in the area and was confronted
by Breidenbach.  Bisrat left the area however, he returned a short time
later.  When Bisrat returned , he was confronted by Breidenbach who was
armed with a handgun.  Bisrat was held by other neighbors until  the
police officers arrived.  Bisrat and Breidenbach were each released on a
summons and have a court date of June 4, 2008.

Possession of Marijuana, occurred on April 12, 2008, around 7:39 p.m. in
the 14100 block of Minnieville Road in Woodbridge.  A patrol officer
observed a suspicious person and stopped to investigate.  Arrested was
Elyse Porter Wyatt, 21, of River Road, Manassas, on the charge.
Wyatt was released on a summons and has a court date of June 12, 2008.

Possession of Schedule II Substance (cocaine), Obstruction of Justice,
Possession of Marijuana, occurred on April 13, 2008, around 11:39 p.m.
in the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge.  A patrol
officer observed a suspicious vehicle and stopped to investigate.
Arrested were:
**Christopher Michael Berquist, 26 of Lighthouse Lane, Woodbridge.
He was charged with possession of schedule II substance (cocaine).
Burquist was held on $2,500 bond.  

** Dale Smith, 20-years-old, of G Street, Woodbridge. Charged with
possession of marijuana.  Released on summons.

**a 17-year-old, male juvenile from Dumfries.  Charged with possession
of marijuana.  Released to a parent.  

There was no court information for all three arrestees.

Incidents

Statutory Burglary, Destruction of Property, occurred on April 10, 2008,
between 1:00-5:00 a.m. in the 14400 unit  block of Jefferson Davis
Highway in Woodbridge.  A safe with cash was stolen from a restaurant.
Entry was gained by breaking the front glass door.

Statutory Burglary, occurred between April 6, 2008, around 4:00 p.m. and
April 12, 2008, around 5;00 p.m. in the 1700 block of Rosa Drive in
Woodbridge.  Copper piper was removed and stolen from a house that is
for sale.  The total amount of the stolen property is $600.  In
addition, the house was damaged in the process of removing the pipes.
