M&T Bank to acquire First Horizon banks

   M&T Bank is planning to acquire several First Horizon banks, including branches located in Fairfax County, according to a release from the company.

First Horizon National Corp. is giving up its branches in Chantilly and Centreville along with their other ten branches in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to expand our presence in the Mid-Atlantic region, a dynamic and important market for our company,” Atwood Collins, president of M&T's Mid-Atlantic Division.
