Chevron robbed

The Chevron gas station in the 5000 block of Backlick Road was robbed Sept. 21. According to Fairfax County Police, about 8 p.m. a black man in his 20s entered the store and pointed a gun at the 62-year-old clerk. The clerk was unharmed, but the suspect made off with the contents of the cash register. The suspect was described as 5-feet-8-inches tall, wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up.


Suspect arrested in stabbing

Candace Jones, a 40-year-old Lorton-area woman, was arrested on Sept. 26 for stabbing a 41-year-old woman with a knife, according to Fairfax County Police. The incident occurred at 5 p.m. outside Jones' home, in the 7400 block of Lone Star Court in Lorton. The victim was taken to Inova Mount Vernon Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Jones was charged with malicious wounding and was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.


Armed robbery

A pizza delivery man was robbed in the 9200 block of Cardinal Forest Lane on Sept. 22, according to Fairfax County Police. The victim, a 34-year-old Lorton man, had delivered a pizza in the 9200 block of Cardinal Forest Lane at about 8:30 p.m. and was walking back to his car when two young black men approached him.

One of the men, about 5-feet-9-inches tall and weighing 160 pounds, was holding a knife and demanded money, while the second man, about 6-feet-2-inches tall and weighing 185 pounds, put a gun to his side and punched him in the face, police said.

The victim gave the suspects his cell phone, wallet and money. The suspects fled and the victim was not injured.

The first suspect had a beard and wore a white T-shirt and blue jeans. The second suspect had short braids in his hair and wore a black T-shirt and blue jeans.


Bias crime

A 22-year-old Lorton man was the victim of a vehicle tampering in the 8000 block of Laurel Heights Loop. The car had dents and scratches on the outside that spelled out racial epithets. No suspects were seen or identified.
